(Picture) Predicted Chelsea Lineup To Play Against Sunderland

Chelsea sit at the zenith of the Premier League table, barely made to sweat and barely challenged. Draws against both Manchester clubs along with 10 wins sees Mourinho’s men in a comfortable position as the most entertaining league in the world slowly heads towards its busiest phase. The Blues decimated German outfit Schalke 5-0 in their own backyard in an impressive advertisement of their title credentials. The side from Stamford Bridge visit a side that effectively cost them the Premier League title last season, after a home defeat to the Black cats ruled Chelsea out of the title reckoning.

Let’s take a look at the side Jose Mourinho would trust getting the job done at the tricky Stadium of Light.

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois has barely put a foot wrong in goal for Chelsea and should continue between the sticks for Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten side.

Defenders:

Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta.

The defence has an all too familiar look about with, but there’s no reason for the Portuguese to tinker with the tried and tested formula. Chelsea haven’t conceded in the last two games after Mourinho publicly criticized his back line for conceding cheap goals. Gary Cahill and John Terry have been a rock at the back for the last three reasons, and Branislav Ivanovic’s FIFA nomination is well deserved after impressive performances at right back. Cesar Azpilicueta will play at left back and look to add defensive solidity and attacking thrust down Chelsea’s left.

Midfielders:

Matic, Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Hazard.

Oscar Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas has provided 14 assists on his return to England and has been the creative influence from his central midfield role. Nemanja Matic’s game is more about solidity and protection in contrast to Fabregas’s intelligence and vision on the ball, but the duo are indispensable for a successful title charge.

Eden Hazard is in the form of his life and the Belgian’s performances have propelled the Blues to the top of the table. Oscar’s linkup play with Hazard is a mouthwatering sight for Chelsea fans, the Brazilian’s defensive discipline also makes him an instant hit with Mourinho.

Forward – Diego Costa

International or club matches, Diego Costa seems to scoring goals for fun, and a fit Costa could well be the difference between 3rd place and the Premiere League trophy.
