After signing from Real Madrid in a record deal, Mesut Ozil claimed that one trophy would get the ball rolling for Arsenal and the club could go back to the glory days. Well. Arsenal managed to do the first part of his statement when they ended their 9 year wait last Saturday by winning the FA Cup.
Earlier today, Ozil posted a picture on his official facebook page with the message:
Two wonderful days I will never forget! I’m especially happy for our fans who supported us till the end. but nine years are definitely too long. For our next title we won’t wait that long anymore … #FaCupChampions2014 #Gunners
Although things started to look bleak when Hull scored two early goals, Ozil and co managed to score three goals to end the season on a high. For a club which lost to Aston Villa at home on the starting day of the season and without any major signings, ending the season with Mesut Ozil in the starting XI and an FA Cup trophy is definitely an achievement. And from the look of things, it can only get better for Arsenal.
Will Mesut Ozil’s words come true?
