Perfect for West Ham: Moyes simply must swoop for £7.2m-rated Liverpool attacker: agreed?

Danny Ings From Liverpool To West Ham United – A Good Idea

West Ham United have been linked to signing Danny Ings from Liverpool over the last couple of weeks and a January move could be in the offing.

Regardless of whether they procure him on a loan or a permanent deal, the Hammers could truly benefit from acquiring his services. Ings is in need of moving to a club where he can revive his career which was stunted over the last two years due to a couple of long-term injuries. David Moyes, on the other hand, is in need of bringing an out-and-out attacker to boost their chances at the front.

Fighting Fit And Raring To Go

Ings is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Reds this season but he has been keeping himself fit. He has featured multiple times for Liverpool’s Under-23 side and has shown some improvement.

In fact, the £7.2m rated Ings has shown signs of getting back to the same form that made him one of the most sought-after strikers a few years back. He did score four times in a reserve clash for Liverpool against Bristol City and he would be a fine addition to West Ham’s squad if he can put up similar displays.

Interestingly, Moyes wanted to bring Ings to Real Sociedad during his time at the club and this could be the time when he actually manages to land his man. Ings in his prime did boast of playing an aggressive game with superior poaching skills and there is no reason why he cannot replicate that for the Hammers if he were to join them.

Furthermore, the club do need all hands on deck if they are to escape relegation and secure their top-flight status. Despite the managerial change, West Ham are still in the 18th spot and time is running out for them. The likes of Crystal Palace and Everton appear to be making progress but Moyes did pluck out an unlikely 1-0 win over Chelsea but there is a lot of work to do.

The January window will be crucial for the manager to seek out new players and lure them to the club in order to seal their signatures. And a player like Ings does seem like a requirement considering how they are lacking power up front.

They do have Javier Hernandez but the player did not have a good time with Moyes back at Manchester United and signing Ings could drive a bigger wedge between the duo. That being said, the Hammers cannot waste time on these personal issues right now. They need goals and if Ings is fit enough to play, they should sign him.

Moreover, Andy Carroll has been quite unreliable while Diafra Sakho seems to have one foot out of the exit door. Hence, a move for Ings in January does seem like a step in the right direction for West Ham.
