Pepe Reina To Stay At Anfield

Pepe Reina will remain at Anfield

Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club in the past few weeks. The Spaniard who is having a poor season has been fragile from the closing stages of last season. And the player has been blamed for letting in easy goals in the matches against Arsenal and Manchester City.

However, the agent of Pepe Reina has denied claims the Spaniard is seeking an exit from Liverpool. Reina, who joined the Anfield club from Villarreal in 2005 has been outstanding before his double hernia operation at the beginning of 2011/12 season, Reina has never been the same after that.

Following the exit rumors, the agent of Reina, Manuel Garcia Quilon claimed that the player is nowhere near the exit doors at Anfield.

“There is no problem right now,” he told Calciomercato in Italy. Pepe has played many games in the Liverpool shirt and is used to all kinds of rumours. It is clear he is not having an easy time because the team has not started the season well and liability is falling on him. But this will end when he returns to form. He still has four years to run on his contract and rumours of leaving Liverpool are just that – rumours.”

Following the exit rumors, Michel Vorm was linked with a move as he is a favorite keeper of ex boss Brendan Rodgers.
