Paul Cook to make no changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Wigan XI to face Norwich City in the Championship

Predicted Wigan Athletic line-up to face Norwich in the Championship

Wigan Athletic travel to Carrow Road in high spirits to face Norwich City in the Championship on Saturday.

Wigan took their points tally to 16 after last week’s 1-0 win over Bristol City, and they now sit fifth in the table. The Latics are on a roll, having come out of a spell of three games in seven days by collecting six points.

Norwich, meanwhile, are 11th on the table after recording their third straight win last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

Team News

Gavin Massey has had a surgery on his hamstring and will be sidelined for three to four months. Dan Burn is nearing full fitness after breaking his foot during pre-season.

Probable Wigan XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Paul Cook

Christian Walton (GK)

Walton managed to keep a clean sheet against Bristol last week and will be hungry for another one this weekend.

Reece James (RB)

James is clearly a talent and has developed his game massively under Paul Cook. He is a sure starter at right-back on Saturday.

Chey Dunkley (CB)

Dunkley has been solid at the back for the Latics. He is a leader on and off the pitch, never shying away from giving his all for a game.

Cedric Kipre (CB)

Kipre continues to impress at the heart of the Wigan defence. The Ivorian has slowly started to find his feet in the Championship.

Antonee Robinson (LB)

Robinson is an attacking left-back who always loves to get forward and contribute to his team’s attack.

Sam Morsy (CM)

Morsy is such a crucial player for Wigan and the captain will have to come up with the goods to once again guide his team to another three points.

Lee Evans (CM)

Evans has been really good for the Latics and will retain his place in the middle of the park against Norwich.

Josh Windass (RW)

Windass has the tendency to drift in from the right onto his favoured left foot and blast a shot. He appears to be a shrewd signing done by Wigan in summer.

Nick Powell (CAM)

Wigan’s creative hub, Powell is a classy operator of the ball and possesses the vision to unlock even the tightest of defences. He has to be at his sublime best on Saturday if Wigan are to continue their upward trajectory.

Michael Jacobs (LW)

A tenacious player, Jacobs can stretch the Norwich defence with his pace and directness.

Joe Garner (ST)

Garner should lead Wigan’s attack against Norwich. He needs a goal or two to get back his mojo.
