Ozil To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal Line Up To Face Watford

It’s not been an easy start for Arsene Wenger and his team, after the opening weekend’s defeat against Liverpool, Arsenal travelled to Leicester City last weekend but could only come away with a nil-nil draw. The Gunners will now travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Saturday. The summer hasn’t been an easy one for Wenger, after his initial purchase of Granit Xhaka, the Frenchman has failed to get any of his transfer targets. The public opinion is quickly turning against him. There is an urgent need to bring in a striker who can take some of the goalscoring burden off Giroud’s shoulders plus a centre back following long-term injuries to Per Mertesacker and Paulista.

Arsenal are already 5 points behind league leaders Manchester United, therefore they can’t afford to drop any more points, as the catching up could take its toll during the final stages of the campaign. Here is our predicted Arsenal starting XI that might start against Watford on Saturday.

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech

After disappointing first game of the season where he let in four, Cech returned to full form against Leicester City. He made a couple of excellent saves to the Champions. He is a guaranteed starter with no real competition to take his place.

Defenders: Hector Bellerin, Koscielny, Holding and Nacho Monreal.

Monreal was given the task of dealing with Mahrez on Saturday and he do so very well. He will keep his place on the left side of the defensive line, with Bellerin on the right side. The Spanish international was guilty of a stupid foul in the box late in the game against Leicester but otherwise he had a good game in the attacking third. Koscielny returned to the first XI after missing out on the opening weekend. The Frenchman was the standout performer and is one of the first names on the teamsheet right now. He will partner summer signing Rob Holding in the middle, who played with a lot of maturity last time around.

Midfielders: Granit Xhaka, Coquelin, Mesut Ozil, Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez.

Granit Xhaka had a decent first game in the Premier Leauge, nothing extra special but he broke up play and got the game flowing from the centre whenever he needed to. He will contiue in central midfield alongside Coquein, who was lucky to scape a red card in the last match after an early yellow card. Mesut Ozil should return to his number 10 postion after making a substitute appearance in the last match. Sanchez will most probably move to his usual left-wing position and Chamberlain will be on the right wing. The English winger has been in top form this summer, therefore this seasonis very important for him.

Striker: Olivier Giroud

The French was excellent for the French national team at the recently concluded European Championship. He made a substitute appearance in the last match, therefore should be ready to make the starting XI come Saturday.
