Ozil, Ramsey, Mertesacker And Podolski React On Twitter To Arsenal’s Incredible Turn Over At The Wembley

Fabianski

A not so convincing performance from the Gunners, but they have achieved what they went for – a place in the FA Cup final at the Wembley knocking out holders Wigan Athletic through penalties.

Although the match was played with high intensity from the word go, both the teams played with more stability at the back rather than in their attacking prowess and deservedly it was 0-0 at the half time.

Second half started and there was a bit more urgency from Arsenal before Per Mertesacker gifted a penalty to Wigan with a poor challenge and was subsequently converted by Jordi Gomez. But the German stood tall and scored the equalizer for Arsenal dragging the match into extra time and penalties.

Fabianski was calm and collected as he saved the first two Wigan spot kicks and an 100% accuracy from Arsenal’s strike force in the shootout meant that the Gunners progressed through to the finals and get one step closer to ending their trophy drought.

Here are some of the tweets and pictures posted by the Gunners:
