Outstanding Son, Impressive Alli – The best and the worst-rated players as Tottenham beat Bournemouth 1-4
Anybody who had dubbed Tottenham Hotspur the ‘Harry Kane team’ are likely to have been left speechless after Mauricio Pochettino’s men put up a spectacular display to seal all of three points as they beat Bournemouth 4-1.
In what will be a major blow to Spurs, their talisman Kane had to be removed due to an injury but in his absence, the show went on and how!
Junior Stanislas opened the scoring with a fine goal and then Dele Alli equalized right before half-time. Their sensational South Korean star Heung-min Son stepped up after the break and scored a brace to put Tottenham in the driver’s seat. From there, the game looked set to end in the North London side’s favour and Serge Aurier’s goal in added time was simply the cherry on the top.

Hugo Lloris – 7/10
Lloris made some important saves throughout the game even though he failed to keep out Stanislas’ goal.
Serge Aurier – 8/10
Aurier started off on a nervy note but as the game progressed, his confidence improved. And the last goal was absolutely brilliant from him.
Davinson Sanchez – 6.5/10
Struggled quite a bit during a few one-on-one encounters but besides that, Sanchez was his usual solid self at the back.
Jan Vertonghen – 8.5/10
Vertonghen was arguably the best defender on the field. He worked hard for a good majority of the game and kept an unpredictable Bournemouth attack at bay.
Danny Rose – 5/10
Was partly responsible for the first goal from Bournemouth and seemed low on energy as well. He picked up a yellow card in the process and although his defensive work improved eventually, the player had to be taken off after picking up an injury.
Victor Wanyama – 7.5/10
Wanyama’s initial few minutes on the field looked lacklustre but he made plenty of crucial interceptions and block from there on.
Mousa Dembele – 8/10
Dembele put in a powerful shift in the middle of the park and he was a true force to be reckoned with for Spurs.
Christian Eriksen – 8/10
Despite playing in a deeper role than usual, Eriksen rose to the challenge and was equally brilliant at attacking as well as controlling the pace of the game.
Dele Alli – 9/10
Alli has been at the receiving end for a lot of heat lately for his dives but against Bournemouth, he was at his best. He made some well-timed runs and boasted of an impressive work-rate. Having scored the equalizer, Alli was also involved in the build-up to one of Son’s goals.
Heung-min Son -10/10
Is there no end to Son’s brilliance? He was the best performer on the field and put in a swashbuckling display to help seal three points for Spurs. Both of his goals were terrific and he is definitely on the right path with the club.
Harry Kane – 5/10
Played only for the first half an hour and then had to be taken off due to an ankle injury.

Erik Lamela – 7/10
Lamela put in a strong performance and brought in some much-needed pace.
Kieran Trippier – 6/10
Came on for Rose and played a cross which led to Aurier’s last-ditch goal.
Moussa Sissoko – 6/10
Although he came on very late, Sissoko played a through ball to Son but the forward’s effort was denied.
