Outstanding Rogic, Brilliant Boyata – The best and the worst rated Celtic players vs Hearts

Full Time: Hearts 1-3 Celtic

Celtic continued their dominance of the Scottish Premiership this season and in doing so, also ended Hearts unbeaten home record.

Hearts are one of the few teams to have beaten Celtic this season but even with an early goal this time around, Celtic proved too much for them to handle and eventually ended the game with a convincing victory.

Celtic Player Ratings

Scott Bain – 7/10

There was nothing that Bain could’ve done about Kyle Lafferty’s excellent volley and he made a couple of good saves after that to keep the scoreline down.

Callum McGregor – 6.5/10

The right-back had a decent game and gave as good as he got. Defended strongly but didn’t do much when going forward.

Kristoffer Ajer – 7/10

Had a solid game at centre-back, won his aerial duels well and looked strong in the tackle. Had a good partnership with Boyata at the back.

Dedryck Boyata – 8/10

Boyata had an excellent game today. He formed a good solid partnership with Ajer and also managed to grab himself a good goal.

Kristoffer Ajer

Mikael Lustig – 6.5/10

Had a decent game down that right-hand side. Seemed comfortable when dealing with defensive duties whilst also providing good width.

Scott Brown – 6.5/10

Brown rarely has a quiet game and in a feisty tie like this, it is no surprise that the first heated moment involved him. Apart from that, he behaved himself quite well and formed a good base for his team in the centre of the park.

Olivier Ntcham – 7.5/10

Played well in the creative central midfield role and angled in a great free-kick for Boyata’s goal. Always looks dangerous and can see the Hollywood pass to help his team get ahead.

James Forrest – 7/10

Looked dangerous down the right-hand side for Celtic and was unfortunate not to create anything for his team. Was comfortable running at defenders and was always out wide to receive the pass.

Tomas Rogic – 8/10

Has the quality to change a game for his team and did so today with the pass of the match. With the outside of his foot, he created the second goal for Dembele, which gave Celtic the control over the game. A quality player.

Moussa Dembele

Odsonne Eduoard – 6.5/10

Didn’t have the best of games and got injured quite early on in the second half. Had been excellent for Celtic this season though and they must look to sign him permanently in the summer.

Moussa Dembele – 7.5/10

Finished his goal excellently from Rogic’s pass and looked a constant threat as Celtic’s spearhead in the attack. Will be very interesting to see if he makes a move to the Premier League this summer.

Substitutes

Scott Sinclair – 7.5/10

Replaced Edouard in the 54th minute and grabbed himself a goal in the final minutes of the game. Knows how to be in the right place at the right time.

Stuart Armstrong – 6.5/10

Came on to replace Dembele in the 62nd minute but didn’t do anything of too much note.

Patrick Roberts – 6/10

Came on in the 82nd minute to replace Rogic and looked comfortable on the ball.
