Arsenal let a lead slip away as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Stand-in skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had given the Gunners the lead with his 50th goal for the club. David Luiz’s cross fidgeted through to Alexandre Lacazette and he teed up Aubameyang for a first-time finish into the bottom corner.
The Gunners missed a great chance to double the lead minutes later as Conor Coady and Leander Dendoncker made a mess of dealing with Callum Chambers’ cross, but Torreira could only shoot straight at Rui Patricio. Wolves came close to equalising in the first-half but Bernd Leno made a great save to deny Diogo Jota.
Wolves began the second half as they had the first, putting Arsenal under pressure. On the hour mark, Emery sent Gabriel Martinelli on for Lacazette to get the second and apparent killer goal.
That said, Arsenal’s sloppy defence led to their downfall, allowing Raul Jimenez to steal a share of the points 14 minutes from time.
Made two great saves in each half to keep Arsenal in the game.
Deserves credit for keeping Jota at bay, whilst also pushing forward with intent.
Generally solid but could have done better to keep Jimenez away from scoring the equaliser.
Some fantastic balls out from the back and defended well throughout.
Tierney was really impressive as he contained Traore as well as got forward with purpose. Was a really good attacking outlet down the left flank.
Played in an advanced role and did well. Kept things tidy in the midfield.
Ceballos was guilty of letting Moutinho run free for Jimenez’ equaliser.
Took a touch too many at times but overall was solid in a deeper role. Dictated the tempo of the game well.
Injected creativity and zip to the Arsenal attack, with the German playmaker at times toying with the Wolves backline.
It was another strong performance from the Gabonese, who showed his quality and grabbed that crucial goal.
Lacazette was a menace for the Wolves defenders in the first-half, grabbing the assist for Aubameyang’s goal.
Brought energy and running to the attack and won possession more than twice high up the pitch.
Showed good ability on the ball and tried creating chances for his teammates, but it didn’t happen.
Came in the 88th minute and didn’t do much.
