Huddersfield Town 1-0 Watford: Tom Ince Strike Hands 3 Massive Survival Points To The Terriers
Huddersfield Town took a huge step towards securing their Premier League status as they beat Watford FC 1-0 at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday.
In what was a scrappy affair for most parts, the Terriers came away with three points, courtesy of a late goal from substitute Tom Ince. He smashed the ball past Orestis Karnezis in the Hornets goal after being found by Mathias Jorgensen in the injury time.
The win sees Huddersfield move seven points clear of the drop zone and here’s how the players fared on the day.

Jonas Lossl – 6/10
The on-loan Polish goalkeeper had very little to do with Watford hardly threatening his goal.
Florent Hadergjonaj – 6.5/10
Linked up well with Collin Quaner down the right-hand side and was fairly solid at the back.
Christopher Schindler – 7/10
Solid as a rock. Made some important tackles and blocks to keep the Hornets at bay whenever they looked to break.
Mathias Jorgensen – 8/10
The Danish centre-half was immense as he completely bossed his duel against Watford captain Troy Deeney. Made a vital contribution at the other end as well, setting Ince up for the winning goal.
Terence Kongolo – 7/10
The Netherlands international was another strong performer for the Terriers on the day. Defended sturdily throughout and kept Richarlison under check in the second period.
Jonathan Hogg – 7/10
Fought hard in the middle of the park and made sure Watford never settled into any sort of proper rhythm.
Aaron Mooy – 7/10
Created a few promising opportunities for his team with his vision and distribution. An ideal foil for Hogg in the midfield.
Collin Quaner – 6/10
Started off brightly and was involved in a few good moves. However, he faded with time and was taken off at the hour mark.
Alex Pritchard – 7/10
The former Tottenham man has grown into an important player since arriving in January. He was once again at the centre of everything positive that the Terriers conjured up going forward.
Rajiv van La Parra – 6/10
Caused a few troubles to the Hornets backline with his pace and dribbling but couldn’t make a decisive impact on the game.
Steve Mounie – 5.5/10
Worked hard against a physical Watford defence without much luck. Couldn’t get into the game and was subbed off for Laurent Depoitre.

Replaced Quaner at the hour mark. Looked lively after coming on and scored a late goal to fire his team to a victory.

On for Mounie in the 71st minute. Was up for the physical battle against the Hornets defence.
