Oscar, signed for Chelsea immediately after the Olympics for about £25 million.
Oscar: I am very happy at Chelsea

Speaking about his life at Chelsea, the midfielder says he has settled in well at his new club and now wants to fight for his place in the starting eleven. Oscar claims:

“Everyone is gradually seeing my quality and I’m getting there slowly. Everybody knows me after the London Olympics. They know that I can help Chelsea. Following the two friendly matches with the national team, I intend to do my best to help my team during the season.”

Oscar says he has settled in quickly, largely due to the help from his friend and International team mate David Luiz and also Ramires.

“David Luiz has helped me a lot. We were already friends before and that has helped, as well as Ramires,” he added. “[Lucas] Piazón is here and he is also Brazilian. I have enough Spanish and Portuguese to communicate so I was received very well by everyone.”

Chelsea is Oscar’s first club outside of his native country of Brazil, following spells at São Paulo and Internacional, but is very happy to be playing in England.

Oscar said: “I am very happy to be here at Chelsea as it is a big club that plays in the major world championships. Thank God I had a good debut and now I have to be patient to be able to make the starting lineup. I am adapting slowly and hopefully I will be as happy here as I was at Internacional.”

The youngster is currently with the International team for the upcoming friendlies against South Africa and looks keen to start the game for the Brazilians.
