Opinion: Why Falcao At Chelsea Would Be A Big Hit

Chelsea fans will be hoping that a good ‘second season syndrome’ hits their latest signing, Radamel Falcao. The 29-year-old Colombian didn’t have the greatest of seasons with Manchester United as he struggled to get back to his goal scoring ways. The striker will be hoping to do much better after signing on loan for Chelsea, but that shouldn’t be a problem for the striker and for Chelsea fans.

He would be playing under Jose Mourinho, who is known to be one of the best managers in the World. Jose would ensure that he gets the best out of Falcao, we must all remember that prior to his horrific ACL injury, and he was the one of the best finishers in the game, that injury took a toll on him as he was out of the game for a long time.

Signing for United, right after the injury wasn’t the smartest move from Falcao, the Premier League is a different league compared to the French league and that physicality bore a burnt on the Colombian as he tried to adjust to the rigours in England.

Another factor we must consider into this deal is that this would be his second year in England and he would be more suited to the league now, plus he would not be playing every game for the club as Diego Costa would be the preferred striker, this would allow the coaches at Chelsea to work harder on Falcao while giving him the time to rest and recover when he does play games for the club.

There is no Didier Drogba anymore and all the hard finishing would have to be done by Falcao, he will be ably assisted by the attacking force that Chelsea possesses. Falcao will surely be doing well thanks to the ability of Hazard, Willian and Fabregas, not to forget about Oscar and Cuadrado, the only issue that could arise is with him playing as an impact player, something that Didier Drogba did last season.

The fight for Chelsea’s second striker is between Falcao and Remy, as for now, they do have a lot of good players coming in through their youth system but Falcao should be able to deal with that. He would also be having the bit between his teeth, to prove to United fans and to himself that he can cut it in the toughest league in the world.

Chelsea could have pulled off one of the best deals this summer, a fit and raring Falcao this season could just propel Chelsea to greater heights and could give Jose that Champions League title with Chelsea he so craves.
