Opinion: Norwich signing this talented Russian prospect would be perfect preparation for life in the PL

Norwich City Opinion: Would Zelimkhan Bakaev be a good fit for Norwich?

Some of the football that Norwich City have played this season can be classed at the highest level and despite their rather alarming lack of squad depth, they have been able to produce some top quality football over the course of the season.

A large part of this success has to be put down to their manager Daniel Farke, who has instilled some excellent values and morals into this obviously talented Canaries outfit.

While they have enjoyed a spectacular season for the most part, some of their performances have shown real grit and the manager has been able to build a Norwich team that’s finally convincing enough to actually win the league.

Currently on top of the Championship table and looking well set, they have been able to create a two-point gap between themselves and the chasing pack – Leeds United and Sheffield United.

While the Blades are currently 5 points off the Canaries, they still have a game in hand, so the situation at the top of the table certainly isn’t a very comfortable one for Daniel Farke’s men.

Considering that such is the case, if Premier League football is in the agenda for the Canaries next season, then there are certain elements in the team that have to be upgraded.

Youngster Emiliano Buendia and Onel Hernandez have been the first-choice wingers at Norwich this season while Marco Stieppermann has been mainly utilised in a central attacking midfield role.

While Todd Cantwell is another option on the flank, there is still an urgent requirement for some talented wingers at Carrow Road and there’s one player that Daniel Farke must set his eyes on in the summer.

Zelimkhan Bakaev is a Russian youth international who currently plays for Arsenal Tula on loan from Spartak Moscow. Currently 22 years old, this talented youngster is a right-winger who is extremely tricky and agile on the ball.

His movement down the flanks has been very impressive for the Russian side this season, while his loan spell has also boosted his development. He has played for Arsenal 16 times this season, scoring 6 goals.

His conversion rate is excellent while his ability to carry the ball will certainly come as a massive boost to a side with aspirations of playing their football in the Premier League next season. Farke must go for it.
