‘Only 34 more points to go’ West Brom Fans React As Robson-Kanu Scores The Winner Over Burnley+Player Ratings

West Bromwich Albion registered their second win of the Premier League, when they defeated Sean Dyche’s Burnley 1-0 away at Turf Moor, on Saturday.

The Baggies came out on top in what was very much a scrappy affair, with substitute Hal-Rabson Kanu scoring the only goal of the game, with 19 minutes left on the clock. The Welsh forward was sent off soon after for a flailing elbow on Matthew Lowton, but Tony Pulis’ side held on to take home three points against the Clarets.

The win means they now move to the second place in the Premier League table.

Here’s how the West Brom players fared on the day;

Ben Foster – 6.5/10

Wasn’t troubled at all by the Clarets’ between the sticks. Comfortable day for the Englishman.

Allan Nyom – 6.5/10

An organized performance at the back from the right-back, keeping the threat of Robbie Brady to a minimum.

Craig Dawson – 7/10

Was given a tough time by the physical presence of Sam Vokes but went toe to toe with the Welsh forward and came out unscathed. A leader’s performance.

Ahmed Hegazy – 7/10

Another strong display from the loan signing. Fought well against the threat of Vokes and is looking like a very good addition to the squad.

Chris Brunt – 6/10

It was his 500th career appearance but was not a memorable one on a personal note. Could not get as much forward as he would have liked, with the threat of Johann Berg-Gudmundsson keeping him pegged back.

Matt Phillips – 7.5/10

Another player who started off slowly, but went on to improve with time, Phillips looked more threatening in the second period. Grabbed the assist for the only goal.

Sam Field – 7/10

The youngster is looking like a fine prospect for the Baggies. Solid distribution, good energy levels, a more than decent display.

Gareth Barry – 7/10

The latest addition to the West Brom squad, Barry started off slowly but grew into the game as time passed. A typical defensive midfielder’s performance.

Jake Livermore – 6/10

Made a great block early on in the game to deny the Clarets. Stuck to his task, but could have used the ball better on occasions.

James McClean – 6/10

Always looking to get forward and put his team on the front-foot. Had a crack at the goal early in the game. But did tend to leave spaces in behind.

Jay Rodriguez – 6/10

Did not have a lot of chances coming his way, due to which he had a subdued outing. Not a chance with the aerial balls either.

Substitutes

Hal-Robson Kanu – 7/10

Replaced McClean in the 63rd minute. Grabbed the winner in the 71st minute, but was shown the red card soon after for an elbow on Lowton.

Salomon Rondon – NA

Came on for Field with less than five minutes left to play.
