Predicted Wolves Lineup To Face Swansea City In The FA Cup

Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers may well feel as though they should have seen off Premier League side Swansea City when they had the chance in the first game, though this replay still represents a fantastic chance for them to progress, with Swansea also likely to leave out several key players.

The Swans are in trouble at the bottom of the Premier League and were a tad lucky to get away from St James’ Park at the weekend with a 1-1 draw.

Wolves themselves endured a draw at Barnsley and were maybe not as fluent as normal, though their solid approach may well undo the Swans this time. Nuno Santo is likely to stick with his trusty 3-4-3 formation at the Liberty Stadium, though John Ruddy, Willy Boly, Romain Saiss, Ruben Neves, Helder Costa and Leo Bonatini may all miss out:

The central figure in a solid back three and will want to play against Premier League opposition.

Played in the first game and will be desperate for another chance.

RWB – Matt Doherty

Wolves don’t have that many options when it comes to replacing Doherty in this role and so he may be asked to play another 90 minutes.

LWB – Barry Douglas

It would be good to see him come in here against a better quality of opposition, though he sat out the first meeting.

A big opportunity for Gibbs-White, bound to be given it so that Saiss and Neves can take a break.

Not up to the standard of Neves perhaps but will still be able to do a job against this Swansea midfield.

Helder Costa has held the shirt recently and so he may be given the chance to rest his legs this time with Cavleiro replacing him.

Didn’t play in the first match but at some point, Nuno Santo will want to know how certain players perform against top-tier opposition, Jota being one of them.
