Nuno Santo to make 2 changes – Predicted 3-4-3 Wolves lineup to face Burton Albion

Predicted Wolves Lineup To Face Burton Albion In The EFL Championship

EFL Championship leaders Wolves will look to strengthen their hold on the top of the table with a win over the relegation-threatened Burton Albion at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men come into the game on the back of a 3-0 win over Reading FC on Wednesday night. They are currently just 3 points above second-placed Cardiff City in the standings and will be hoping to widen the gap with a victory against the Brewers at home, given Neil Warnock’s men aren’t scheduled to play on Sunday.

Team News

On-loan attacker Diogo Jota is likely to miss the weekend’s assignment after being subbed off injured against Reading on Wednesday. Other than that, there are no injury or suspension concerns for Santo to be worried about.

Here’s how the league leaders could set out against Burton this weekend.

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo

Formation: 3-4-3

John Ruddy (GK)

The former Norwich City man has grown into a vital player for Wolves since signing in the summer. A definite starter between the sticks.

Ryan Bennett (CB)

Another former Norwich City player who has excelled at the Molineux this season, Bennett had a solid game in the midweek and will look to continue from where he left off.

Willy Boly (right)

Conor Coady (CB)

The former Liverpool man is once again expected to line up in the middle of the back three for Saturday’s encounter.

Willy Boly (CB)

The Portuguese defender has been sensational at the back for the leaders and is a guaranteed starter week in week out.

Matt Doherty (RWB)

The Irishman found the back of the net twice in the midweek win and will be high on confidence coming into the weekend’s clash. Will start as the right wing-back.

Ruben Neves (CM)

The club-record signing is an extremely pivotal player in the middle of the park for Santo’s side and will hope to make a valuable contribution on Saturday.

Alfred N’Diaye (CM)

The midfielder was benched for the win over Reading on Wednesday night but should replace Romain Saiss in the middle in all likelihood against Burton.

Barry Douglas (LWB)

The left wing-back slot will be taken up by 28-year-old Scotsman Barry Douglas. Will look to stretch the opposition with his forward runs.

Ivan Cavaleiro

Helder Costa (RW)

The Portuguese assisted a goal in the midweek win and will once again be hoping to make an impact.

Benik Afobe (ST)

The on-loan Bournemouth striker has scored two in his last three Championship appearances. Should get the nod ahead of Leo Bonatini.

Ivan Cavaleiro (LW)

With Diogo Jota likely to miss out due to injury, Portuguese wide man Ivan Cavaleiro should start on the left-wing against the Brewers.
