Three Players Who Are Sure To Quit Arsenal In The Summer

Arsene Wenger will be frustrated with the lack of progress at the club this season. His Arsenal side are currently just a point off the 4th placed Liverpool and need some luck to qualify for Champions League. The manager would have, however, started looking for possible additions to his squad in the summer and has been linked with a number of star players recently.

The Gunners may not be in the Champions League next season, thus reducing their luring power. But they will surely still look to sign some of the best players in Europe. Wenger is not known for spending big in transfer windows but that might finally change this summer, with the squad needing some world class additions. But here are three players who Wenger might let go this summer:

Francis Coquelin

The French midfielder was the first choice for Arsene Wenger at the start of the season but an injury to him, and the rise in form of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey has seen him fall down the pecking order. The 26-year old is now wanted in Spain, with Valencia interested and with Wegner looking to add another name to his midfield, with Mohamed Elneny also an option, Coquelin could be heading towards an exit.

Santi Cazorla

The Spanish midfielder is still one of the best players in his position but he has been out of action for more than half of this season. Despite being the best midfielder in the squad, he might find it hard to play regularly ahead of Ramsey and Xhaka next season, solely because of his fitness problems. Arsenal are yet to extend his current deal, which runs out at the end of the season and though Wenger might want to keep him for another year, he’d be looking at another addition and might not stick with the 32-year old next season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The English midfielder has been the first choice right wing-back for Arsenal in the last month or so but he has been linked with an exit. Liverpool are reportedly interested in getting him to Anfield and with his contract running out at the end of next season, Arsenal might not be able to do much about this. So ‘the Ox’ might not be at the Emirates next season after all. He is versatile and Wenger might want to keep him in the team, but with no contract talks happening, it is possible that he could leave in the summer.
