“Not good enough”, “Ref was a joke”: Some Celtic fans react furiously to 1-1 draw vs Hibernian + Match Report

Hibernian v Celtic Report – Celtic Match Report and Reactions

Celtic’s winning start to the league came to a halt as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hibernian at Easter Road in a game that had Hibernian boss Paul Heckingbottom getting sent off to the stands for kicking a water bottle.

A Kristoffer Ajer own goal and a goal from Ryan Christie were the shining moments in the game. The away side had other chances but they weren’t sharp enough in the final third.

Hibernian took the lead in eighth minute after Christian Doidge’s cross was turned into his own net by Ajer. The defender was a bit unfortunate there in all honesty.

Celtic equalised in the 24th minute after a moment of controversy. Referee and the fourth official were in disagreement on a free-kick decision leaving Hibernian players confused.

Celtic duly pushed forward without being swayed by the situation and eventually scored when Moritz Bauer’s cross was turned in by Christie.

This was a moment of proper discussion and it left Hibernian boss Heckingbottom enraged and he was shown a red card for kicking the bottle that hit the fourth official on his leg.

Odsonne Edouard and Vakoun Bayo had chances to put Celtic ahead but both of them missed the target. The Hoops had two strong penalty claims waved away by the referee, which signified their off day in the office.

All in all, a disappointing game for Neil Lennon’s men, whose lead at the top of the table has been cut down to just a single point after Rangers winning.

Here’s how their fans reacted after this game:
