Not Costa: Chelsea Need These Four Unlikely Strike Targets

3. Stevan Jovetic

Jovetic has the flair, technique and shooting ability to play as a lone striker for Chelsea. He is more than a target man. He is a versatile forward option. He’s that type of forward who will enjoy venturing into pockets of spaces and set himself up in goal scoring positions.

He is known for his nimble footed dribbling and clinical finishing. Players with flair are ones who fit in almost every team. Fernando Torres was known for his flair, as he knew what to do on the pitch as he always seemed to know where the goal was. But Chelsea’s style, which suited Didier Drogba, who is way different from the Spaniard, effectively meant that Torres always had to play second fiddle and now lose confidence. All this because Fernando Torres was largely a player who took on the last defender but rarely dribbled in the pockets of spaces or played with his back to the goal. Jovetic may not exactly play with his back to the goal, but he surely ventures into midfield and has the ability to dribble through congested areas.
