According to a report from MSN, Norwich City are set to battle it out with Sheffield United and Turkish side Besiktas to sign Luis Advincula in the summer. The Peruvian is currently on loan at La Liga side Rayo Vallecano from Tigres and he has been really impressive this campaign.
Norwich have deservedly attained promotion after clinching the Championship title on the final day of the season. Daniel Farke has done a tremendous job at Carrow Road this season but the Premier League is a whole new ball game.
Norwich will have to be at their best to have any chance of surviving in the Premier League next season and Daniel Farke will have to strengthen his squad in the summer. Norwich already have an impressive squad in their ranks but there is room for improvement in a few areas.
Ivo Pinto will leave Norwich for his former side Dinamo Zagreb in the summer. This leaves the Canaries with just Max Aarons at right-back who has had a phenomenal season there in the Championship.
However, Aarons’ brilliant performances have linked him with a move to Premier League hotshots Tottenham Hotspur as a replacement to Kieran Trippier in the summer.
This would be a huge blow to Norwich but irrespective of Aarons’ future at the club, they will need to sign another right-back to replace Pinto in the summer.
However, Norwich targeting Luis Advincula in the summer makes very little sense and they should stop pursuing it in the summer. The Peruvian is already 29 years old and he would find it extremely difficult to have an impact in the Premier League next season.
Advincula only has one year of experience in a top European League which has been proven to be insufficient in the past with a number of players.
The 29-year-old, in all fairness, has had an impressive season in the La Liga with Vallecano but Norwich will be foolish to line him up as a potential replacement to Max Aarons in the summer.

Norwich City need fresh, young blood to continue the fantastic work that they have done in the Championship this season. Signing Luis Advincula will most certainly be a waste of both time and money and Daniel Farke should reconsider his interest in the ageing Peruvian defender in the summer.
