Norwich signing this 26-year-old Brazilian star with an array of skills would be a brilliant move by Farke

Norwich City Opinion: Farke should make a move for João Pedro

While Daniel Farke has somehow managed to help Norwich City to the top of the Championship table, the club still needs reinforcements next season. Whether or not the Canaries get promoted, Farke will have to add a few players, which does include a winger and another striker.

However, what should be Norwich City’s top target is an attacking midfielder, as the club only has Marco Stiepermann.

While the German is 28 years old and in the middle of his prime as a footballer, he has still struggled to make an impact. He has five goals to his name, adding seven more assists in the Championship alone this season.

But all that makes is a case for the club to add someone else, whether or not they do get promoted to the Premier League. That being said, they should target Serie A star João Pedro.

The Cagliari star has slowly grown into his boots at the Serie A side, with him finding his footing this season. He’s showcased his class in the Italian top-tier, having produced seven goals so far. It encapsulates everything good about the 26-year-old Brazilian as Pedro has a wide array of skills.

A versatile star, the 26-year-old can play as a central midfielder or even as a second striker if needed.

But his preferred position has been as an attacking midfielder but he works as hard defensively as he does offensively. That’s something that should give him confidence if Norwich City do make a move, with Farke preferring players who give their all for the team.

Given João Pedro’s skill set, the 26-year-old has all the right tools to survive in the English top-flight. Creativity, combined with speed, dribbling and a wonderful eye for pass all make up the 6ft star, and he uses his body to great effect.

Strong on the ball, Pedro has adapted well and become very difficult to dispossess off the ball. He uses it very effectively, shielding the ball and bringing others into the fold, which is exactly what Norwich City need going forward.

All in all, João Pedro’s presence at Carrow Road would give Daniel Farke another option, but only if a move does go through once the window opens.

Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
