Norwich City signing this 26-year-old Englishman would provide ample support between the sticks – Agreed?

Why Norwich should sign Jack Butland

Norwich City have been the neutral’s favourite and a real breath of fresh air in the Premier League this season. They’ve scored 6 goals in their 3 games so far and there’s one man who’s been taking all the headlines, their centre-forward Teemu Pukki.

However, the credit must go to the entire team, their manager Daniel Farke and Sporting Director Stuart Webber.

Norwich were the lowest spenders in the Premier League this season, playing most of the players from their Championship side and will be hoping that they can strengthen a few areas of the squad soon if there’s a possibility to make that happen.

One player they’ve been linked with according to PinkUn is England international and current Stoke City keeper Jack Butland.

The 26-year-old is one of the players, who is surprisingly still in the Championship as he’s proven in the past that he was one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League. Butland also has 9 International caps.

Jack Butland

Butland’s best attribute is his shot-stopping as he’s shown over the years that he can come up with some of the most remarkable saves.

He’s quick to get off his line, a very commanding figure in the box cause of his 6 ft 5-inch frame and has even improved upon his distribution as commanded of the game now and for his national side.

This would fit in perfectly with what Norwich are looking for as they have a very exciting backline with raiding full-backs, who will be looking for little pings to initiate attacks from the flanks.

Norwich currently have a very decent Premier League proven goalkeeper in Tim Krul, who has also represented his national team of Holland and has had a fine time in the Premier League in the past.

Krul’s also is a fine goalkeeper at 31 and has made some crucial saves with his incredible reflexes in recent games but he’s not the most commanding in the box as he’s only 6 ft 2 inches and this also affects his reach.

Krul would be an able deputy but Butland would clearly be an upgrade cause of his more physical characteristics, which are vital for a side who’ll be ultimately fighting for survival.
