Norwich City signing this 27-year-old star would help them edge Leeds United in the title race this season

Why Norwich City must go all out to sign Robert Mak in January

As we approach the second half of the Championship campaign, Norwich City fans will be extremely delighted with the way Daniel Farke has changed the club’s fortunes after an ordinary start. Truly, Norwich City have gone from a mid-table side to real promotion contenders in a matter of few months.

Daniel Farke has done a remarkable for the Canaries, who sit second in the table despite losing 4-3 to Derby County in a thriller at the weekend. Norwich are second in the standings, two adrift of league leaders Leeds United.

But ahead of the Derby game, Norwich suffered a double injury blow. Jamal Lewis and Emi Buendia have been ruled of action until mid-January with ligament injuries. That’s a massive blow for the Championship club as both Lewis and Buendia have been regulars this season and have made important contributions to what has been a stunning season till date.

While Farke has plenty of options at his disposal to replace Lewis for the time being, the same cannot be said when it comes to replacing the crocked Buendia. Injuries and suspensions are a part and parcel of the game but for a side chasing promotion, they need to be well-equipped in every department of the pitch.

In order to cement their position at the top end of the Championship, the January transfer window is going to be a hugely important time for Farke. That said, Norwich must plot a January move for Zenit St. Petersburg star Robert Mak.

A Slovakian international, Robert Mak has shone in the Europa League for Zenit this season, scoring four goals in nine appearances. Speed, technique and finishing, the 27-year-old has it all. His pace combined with his vision makes him a brilliant player to target. His skills and attacking prowess certainly make him a solid player to keep an eye on.

At 27, Robert Mak is entering the best years of his career. And what makes the Slovak an even more attracting option is the fact that he has volumes of European experience and international pedigree.
