With North London derby coming up this weekend, let’s just warmup by traveling through the time machine to witness one of the classic encounters between these two electrifying sides.

With just five minutes showing in the clock , Gascoigne scored an amazing 30 yards free-kick to give spurs an early lead. Gary Lineker then increased the lead from a close range shot. Spurs were now firing on all cylinders with Gasco and co dominating the midfield and their wingers literally toying with Arsenal full-backs Lee Dixon and Nigel Winterburn.

Arsenal finally pulled one goal back on the stroke of half-time to keep their cup hopes alive. Even though Arsenal dominated the second half, they were unable to find the net. Gary Mabbutt and Steve Sedgley stopped the waves of Arsenal attacks magnificently that day.

It was Lineker who settled the tie in 78th min when his low shot went in straight through Seaman’s hand. Campbell and Merson hit the bar during the closing stages, but Tottenham were not to be denied a memorable victory on their route to their eighth FA Cup triumph.
