A Combined Playing XI Featuring Arsenal And Tottenham Stars

After an excruciating week of Premier League football, the competition is going to see yet another round of intense fixtures. A derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, two of the biggest rivals in England, will be the showpiece occasion this weekend. While Spurs are comfortably placed 2nd in the points table, Arsenal are still reeling at 6th and need to be at their best until the end of the season to qualify for Europe. But how have the players from both teams performed this season?

Here is a combined lineup for Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal ahead of this crucial clash.

Arsenal And Tottenham Combined XI:

GK – Hugo Lloris (Tottenham Hotspur)

The French star has been impeccable this season and just edges past Petr Cech, who has suffered a dip in form recently.

RB – Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)

With Hector Bellerin providing decent competition, Kyle Walker, who has been superb on the flank for the Spurs, should find a place in this starting XI.

CB – Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

The French defender has been the best player for Arsenal at the back this season and should find a place in the heart of the defence of this combined XI.

CB – Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Belgian had Shkodran Mustafi breathing down his neck for this position but he has been more consistent to snatch this place.

LB – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

Rose, the No.1 contender is a doubt for the game. His replacements Nacho Monreal and Ben Davies have been below par, so why not ‘the Ox’? Wenger has used him as a wingback this season and he has been more productive than the trio.

CM – Mousa Dembele (Tottenham Hotspur)

Though Victor Wanyama would act as a better CDM, Dembele has a creative side to his game that has helped Spurs this season and this finds him a place in this lineup.

RW – Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Danish star is one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment and he should eclipse the likes of Theo Walcott into this side.

Tottenham Hotspur

CAM – Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

The German playmaker has not been at his best recently but he has been an important part of Arsenal’s run this season and should play in his regular position in this squad.

CAM – Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)

The young sensation has been consistent in front of goal and stands as one of the most productive players in England. He is an automatic choice for this side.

LW – Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

The Chilean winger has been astonishing this season, scoring goals for fun and there are very few players in the current league who will find a place over Sanchez in this team.

ST – Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

With Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck not showing enough consistency, Kane should lead the attack for this side. Easy pick really.

This is how they would line up:
