No Milner, no problem – 3 top quality replacements who Liverpool can target including this PSG sensation

Liverpool opinion: Three replacements for James Milner

It seems that PSG’s interest in Liverpool players hasn’t ended yet with the Parisians keen on a move for James Milner. The versatile former Manchester City midfielder has endured a rather eventful career with Liverpool but sees his contract expire at the end of the season.

It leaves clubs open to making a move for him and PSG are very keen with the Ligue 1 side losing Adrien Rabiot for free as well. This does pose a small problem for Jurgen Klopp but it’s solvable. As important as Milner has been for the club, he is replaceable.

Youri Tielemans

The Belgian has taken to the Premier League brilliantly and while his loan spell at Leicester is over, he does have a future in England. The Monaco man finished his season with 3 goals and 5 assists.

It’s a rather impressive tally and combine that with an all-action performance, it’s a like for like replacement. The 22-year-old’s work ethic and energy will be a welcome presence in Liverpool’s midfield.

He needs the move to finally live up to his potential, which shouldn’t be a problem over time.

Piotr Zielinski

Another incredibly talented midfielder, Zielinski has the offensive and defensive nuance to play across the midfield line. That includes as a number 10 or even a number 8.

But it’s in the latter that the 25-year-old really does his best work in. It allows him to dictate play from the centre of the park, with smart and efficient passes to teammates.

Combine that with a rather confident dribbling ability and a work ethic that he’s developed under Ancelotti and it’s a match made in heaven.

Christopher Nkunku

Arguably the best replacement, Nkunku’s versatility and athleticism, makes him the best man.

Both sides need something and while PSG want Milner, Liverpool needs Nkunku. The 23-year-old has done well for the Ligue 1 giants, using his ability to play across the field very well.

That’s what Milner does for the team more often than not and replacing that is very hard. It’s exactly what the young PSG star can do, which is why the Reds should consider asking PSG.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has been chasing after experience and has rarely used someone like Nkunku. But under Klopp’s tutelage, the young midfielder should get the game time he needs and Liverpool get a replacement for a worthy servant.
