Three ideal Fantasy Premier League replacements for James Maddison

Fantasy Premier League managers who owned James Maddison for the game against Burnley would have definitely been left frustrated after the midfielder was left out of the squad due to a knee injury. His return date is yet to be declared but it does look like the English midfielder will be out for a while.

Maddison made a superb start to life at the King Power Stadium since his summer arrival from Norwich City. The 21-year-old has picked up 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 league appearances this season. He seems to be pulling all the strings and has created the most number of chances for his team. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

His injury will definitely leave a number of managers pondering as to who they can bring in as a replacement. Fortunately, here we take a look at three ideal replacements for the Leicester City midfielder.

Three Ideal FPL replacements for James Maddison

Felipe Anderson (West Ham United)

Felipe Anderson has now scored in back to back games for the first time in the Premier League. Though he may not be averaging many shots in a game, the Brazilian has been very clinical with the ones he’s taken.

Priced at £6.9million, Anderson is just £0.1million costlier than James Maddison at the moment but after his goal-scoring exploits in gameweek 12, his value is definitely set to rise. Though most managers have opted to pick fellow teammate Marko Arnautovic, Anderson will prove to be a major differential when the Austrian blanks like he did last week.

Anthony Martial (Manchester United)

It’s always difficult for managers to rely on Manchester United players but one man who’s constantly keeping himself in our minds is Frenchman Anthony Martial. The former Monaco winger now has 6 goals from his last 5 games in the Premier League.

He has three double-digit hauls in that time, which has seen his value shoot up from £7.2million to £7.5million. It’s definitely set to go even higher and managers should definitely consider him given the Red Devils play Crystal Palace and Southampton next.

Gerard Deulofeu (Watford)

A potent budget midfielder is what all fantasy managers look for and Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu has emerged as a decent option. He recently made his return from an injury layoff and has since produced the goods playing as a striker for Javi Gracia’s side.

Priced at just £5.4million, the Spaniard has 1 goal and 1 assist in his last three games. He is a midfielder playing as a striker at the moment and that is a gem for fantasy managers. Bring him in before his price rises even further. Managers can save more than a million by offloading Maddison for Deulofeu.
