According to the latest reports, Arsenal are willing to give a trial to Highly-rated Nigerian defender Godfrey Oboabona as he attempts to earn himself a move to Emirates on a permanent basis.
The centre-back gained popularity with some brave displays in African Cup of Nations and he is also an Arsenal fan.
In his recent interview to MTNFootntball, he said,
“Arsenal are my favourite club from childhood. It is the club I want to play for.”
“I already have offers from the top five leagues in the world. But like you know the transfer window had closed by the time the Nations Cup ended.”
“If I want to make any move now then it would be to an African country, and I don’t want such a move when I have offers from Europe.”
“So, I would rather wait until the summer and make the right choice instead of rushing into any move.”
Arsene Wenger believes that Oboabona has what it takes to succeed in the premier league. If he impresses during the trail, then he will be Arsenal’s first Summer signing in the coming window.
