Niasse In, Martina At Left-back – Strongest 4-1-4-1 Everton Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town

Predicted Everton Line-up To face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League

Everton will look to make it two wins out of two, when they take on Huddersfield Town in the Premier League, in what is set to be Sam Allardyce’s first match as in-charge of the Toffees, at the Goodison Park, on Tuesday.

Big Sam has been appointed as the boss of the Merseyside club, bringing an end to David Unsworth’s temporary spell at the helm of things, and the clash against the Terriers could turn out to be the former England manager’s first game as the new manager.

The Toffees will be high on confidence after they thrashed former manager David Moyes’ West Ham United 4-0 during the midweek and will want to usher in the Sam Allardyce era with a win over David Wagner’s side.

Team News

Left-back Leighton Baines remains a major doubt for the clash with a calf muscle strain while summer signing Michael Keane is also unlikely to feature owing to a head injury. The likes of James McCarthy, Maarten Stekelenburg and Ross Barkley remain unavailable, while Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie and Ramiro Funes Mori remain long-term absentees. Oumar Niasse will be back after serving his two-match ban for diving in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Here’s how the Toffees might take the field against Huddersfield:

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Jordan Pickford (GK)

The former Sunderland goalkeeper is the undisputed No.1 choice at the Goodison Park and should start on Saturday.

Jonjoe Kenny (RB)

The youngster has seen a lot of game time for the senior side of late and should continue to feature at right-back against the Terriers.

Mason Holgate (CB)

With Michael Keane a doubt for this game, young defender Mason Holgate is likely to continue in the heart of the defence for the Toffees.

Jordan Pickford

Ashley Williams (CB)

The Welshman will be high confidence having scored in the midweek win along with keeping a clean sheet. Will want to put in another strong display.

Cuco Martina (LB)

The former Southampton man isn’t the most convincing at left-back, but with Baines out, Everton don’t have a plethora of options and Martina is likely to get the nod.

Idrissa Gueye (DM)

In the holding midfield role, Senegalese international Idrissa Gueye should continue to start. He will be tasked with keeping the threat of Aaron Mooy to a minimum.

Aaron Lennon (RW)

The former Tottenham man has found a second wind of sorts at the Goodison Park in the past couple of weeks. Could be in for another start on the right flank.

Tom Davies (CAM)

Through the middle, teenage midfielder Tom Davies should keep his spot in the starting line-up for the weekend clash.

Oumar Niasse

Wayne Rooney (CAM)

Starred the last game, scoring a sensational hat-trick against the Hammers. Has 7 goals for the Toffees and will be keen on adding more.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (LW)

The club-record signing should once again start the game on the left flank. Has just a solitary goal and two assists and will be itching to improve his numbers.

Oumar Niasse (ST)

Having served his two-game ban for diving, striker Oumar Niasse is back in contention for selection again and could be given the nod ahead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
