Niasse And Vlasic To Start – Strongest 4-3-1-2 Everton Line-Up To Face Burnley In The PL

Predicted Everton Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Everton will look to get back to winning ways, when they face Burnley in game-week 7 of the Premier League, at the Goodison Park, on Sunday.

The Toffees have endured a torrid start to the new season, but seem to have turned the corner with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend, which saw them bump up to 14th place in the table, from being in the relegation zone. However, a midweek 2-2 draw against Apollon Limassol in the UEFA Europa League will have dampened the mood once again for Ronald Koeman’s side. The manager will be hoping that his team turn things around and claim three points against Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

Team News

Michael Keane is once again unlikely to feature for Everton as he continues his recovery from a foot injury. Phil Jagielka also remains absent due to a hamstring problem, along with Ross Barkley (hamstring) and James McCarthy (knee). Ramiro Funes Mori, Seamus Coleman and Yannick Bolasie are the long-term absentees.

Here’s how Everton might line up against Burnley this weekend:

Manager: Ronald Koeman

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Jordan Pickford (GK)

The Englishman has managed just a single clean sheet in 6 league outings so far this season. Will be keen on adding one on Sunday.

Jordan Pickford

Cuco Martina (RB)

The former Southampton man did not feature in the European encounter, but could come in to replace Jonjoe Kenny as the right-back, against Burnley.

Mason Holgate (CB)

With both Keane and Jagielka unavailable, young Mason Holgate will have to do a job at centre-back once again this weekend.

Ashley Williams (CB)

Given the number of injuries in defence, the Welshman will have to shoulder more responsibility and help his younger teammate on Sunday.

Leighton Baines (LB)

The 32-year old England international will take up his customary position at left-back to complete the back four for Everton.

Ashley Williams (left)

Tom Davies (CM)

The young midfielder has been a constant fixture in the starting line-up for Everton in recent weeks and it is unlikely to change for Sunday’s encounter.

Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)

The Frenchman will assume the duties of shielding his fragile-looking backline against the Clarets on Sunday.

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

The Senegalese midfielder was taken off at half-time in the midweek game, but should partner Schneiderlin in the middle of the park.

Oumar Niasse

Nikola Vlasic (CAM)

Came on as a substitute against Limassol and made a huge impact in the European game, scoring a goal. Koeman might hand him a start on Sunday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (ST)

The youngster is a handful to deal with, due to his pace and directness. Having come off the bench on Thursday, he should be in for a start against Burnley.

Oumar Niasse (ST)

Was Everton’s saviour last weekend against Bournemouth, grabbing a double after coming on from the bench. Might be rewarded for that performance with a start on Sunday.
