According to El Confidencial, PSG star Neymar has enquired about Barcelona’s new coach Quique Setien to his former teammates.
The Brazilian had come under a lot of criticism at the start of the season and there were talks about a potential return to Camp Nou earlier.
However, things settled down slowly and Neymar returned after a long break against Real Madrid in the Champions League. He came from the bench and played a major role in helping the Parisians earn a draw against a revamped Zinedine Zidane side.
The Santos youth product has featured in 15 games for PSG this term and has scored 13 goals across all competitions, with the most recent one coming against Monaco in Ligue 1.
However, as we know, Neymar was a key component in Barcelona’s squad from 2013 to 2017. And he completed the famous trio of MSN – Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
His partnership with the other two members flourished as the years went by and the trio was responsible for various trophies the Catalan giants lifted during that time, including the Champions League in the 2014/15 season.
His departure to France came as a big surprise and that followed with several altercations both on and off the field. He was also booed by the Parc des Princes faithful despite helping the club to several titles. And he could have left Paris last summer but eventually stayed put.
And now, El Confidencial has claimed that “Neymar has asked Barca players about Quique Setien”. He was curious to know the thoughts of his friends about the appointment of the new manager.
However, it is very unlikely that he would return to Camp Nou and line up for his former side at the moment. Though a return would make Setien’s side even more powerful, there seem to be no chances of that happening.
