Many Manchester United supporters are still talking about the possible move of Benfica’s Nicolas Gaitan to Old Trafford and it is quite fair considering the amount of time the rumours have been going around. The player is quite underrated by the fans, though he was consistently quite excellent for the Portuguese outfit over the past few years.

However, things might be quite different this summer with the 27-year old superstar wanting to make a move to England soon.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf who were the first ones to report that Louis van Gaal had agreed to take over the United job last year have reported in their Friday edition, when Matteo Darmian was set to sign for the Red Devils, De Telegraaf had stated that Van Gaal had demanded three signings by Monday, which eventually did happen.

On Monday, they stated that the Dutch manager had also asked for Nicolas Gaitan, adding him to a list of potential targets including Sergio Ramos, Nicolas Otamendi and Morgan Schneiderlin, with the French midfielder completing his medical later.

With the amount of money that van Gaal still has in hand, it would not be a surprise if he ends up signing more players, mainly a striker, for his squad soon.
