According to a report in the Sun, Newcastle United are all set to sign former Chelsea youngster Kyle Scott for free on a two-year deal this summer.

Scott becomes the latest youth product from Chelsea to leave the club after Ethan Ampadu did the same when he joined RB Leipzig a few days back. Here’s why joining the Magpies is a good move for Scott:

Scott is a good player who would improve Newcastle

Kyle Scott is a versatile midfield player, who can operate as a box-to-box midfielder, defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder, as per the requirement of the team.

In terms of his attributes, the 21-year-old is a good player on the ball, possesses a good turn of pace to go past players and has a shot from distance too.

Newcastle have a lot of good options in the midfield, especially if they manage to keep hold of Sean Longstaff. However, they could do with having a versatile player in that position ahead of the new season.

Hence, they are right in completing the move to sign Kyle Scott. The youngster hasn’t played in the Premier League so far, but he is talented enough to make a mark in Tyneside.
