Murty to make 1 important change – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Rangers lineup to face Ross County

Predicted Rangers Lineup To Face Ross County In Scottish Premiership

Rangers will face off against Ross County in the Scottish Premiership, at the Global Energy Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers moved to 2nd place in the Premiership standings following their 2-0 win over Aberdeen during the midweek. They currently are on 43 points from 23 games, level with Dons and 11 behind leaders and bitter rivals Celtic. Manager Graeme Murty will be keen on holding on to the position while trying to reduce the gap at the top, with a win over the Staggies.

Team News

The Light Blues continue to be without club captain Lee Wallace, veteran forward Kenny Miller and midfielder Jordan Rossiter who have all faced long-term injury problems this term. Miller and Rossiter are both back in training, but how long they’d take to return to match fitness is unknown.

Graham Dorrans is also out as he continues to fight back from an injury he sustained against Kilmarnock at the end of last year. Defender Bruno Alves is missing with the injury that he sustained against Celtic, with former Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack and youth academy prospect Ross McCrorie also missing out due to injury.

Probable Rangers XI

Manager: Graeme Murty

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Wes Foderingham (GK)

The Englishman will be keen on recording another clean-sheet after having managed to keep a shutout in the midweek against Aberdeen.

James Tavernier (RB)

Was one of the star performers for the Gers in the win over the Dons, scoring and assisting a goal apiece. A definite starter at right-back.

Russell Martin (CB)

With Bruno Alves still out with an injury problem, January signing Russell Martin could be handed his second start on Sunday.

David Bates

David Bates (CB)

The partnership of Martin and David Bates managed to keep the Dons out on Wednesday night and may well be stuck with for the game against the Staggies.

Declan John (CB)

At left-back, on-loan Cardiff City defender Declan John is expected to retain his place in the starting XI for the weekend’s game.

Jason Holt (CM)

A permanent fixture in the middle of the park for Murty’s side, Jason Holt will once again feature from the kick-off for the Gers.

Andy Halliday (CM)

The midfielder was recalled from his loan spell and having made an appearance from the bench on Wednesday, he might get a starting berth on Sunday.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

On the right-hand side of the attack, Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias is expected to retain his place in the playing XI against Ross County.

Andy Halliday

Josh Windass (CAM)

The Englishman is once again expected to line up in a No.10 role for the Glasgow based outfit on Sunday at Victoria Park.

Jamie Murphy (LW)

Signed from Premier League side Brighton in January, Murphy made his competitive debut for the club against Aberdeen and was impressive. Should start on the left wing.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

Leading the line for the Gers should be club’s top goal-scorer of the season Alfredo Morelos. Netted against the Dons in the midweek and will want to add more to his tally.
