Why Mr Moneyball Who Made A £152million Profit For La Liga Club Along With Jose Mourinho Can Do Wonders For Manchester United

Sevilla’s Europa League triumph seems to have gotten a lot of attention from the top clubs and it seems that another star of the team is about to move away from the club. Monchi, the man behind Sevilla’s success seems set to leave the club and Liverpool, Manchester United a few others are after the signature of the hottest director of football in town.

Monchi has been able to transform the Andalusian side around. The 47-year-old has led Sevilla to nine trophies in ten years and made a €200m (£152m) profit in the transfer market. Recently, they defeated Liverpool in the Europa League final easily, but more impressive was the way the club has had to deal with the losses of multiple players to the larger clubs.

Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, Monchi as he is called, always has a plan and an alternative if a deal does not go through. His way of dealing with the transfer market has seen Sevilla not only consistently win trophies, but also keep performing at the highest levels, even when they do lose out on their best player’s years after year.

Carlos Bacca, Ivan Rakitic and Alberto Moreno are just some of the players the La Liga side lost in recent seasons, but he still managed to replace the players and won a few things along the way. Monchi has been linked with a move to Manchester United and this could be a great deal for the Premier League giants.

Monchi would be a resounding success at United

Manchester United’s dealings in the transfer market haven’t been the greatest in recent times and maybe a sporting director is the way to go. Monchi knows what he would do to the club and with his army of scouts, he could get United the best of talent for relatively cheap prices.

Not only would the Spaniard be able to bring quality to the club, he would ensure that the right players are brought into a team, players who can adapt to the league and life at Manchester quickly, without too much of a fuss.

Monchi would also ensure that the winning mentality returns to the club but that does not mean he would be welcome at Manchester United by Jose Mourinho. The new manager might not take too kindly to Monchi coming into the side and looking over transfers and other workings of the club but taking a bit of pressure away from the Portuguese could be the best thing possible as United look to enter a new era.

Manchester United might be a big club, but having a sporting director isn’t the worst thing in the world and with Monchi having an excellent track record, a lot of positives could be on the way for the Premier League side.
