Why This Newcastle United Midfielder Can Be A Good Squad Player For Arsenal – Scouting For Wenger

Newcastle getting relegated has set many Premier League clubs on alert as they look to get the signatures of a few stars looking to be part of the top flight of English football next season. One such player who could be moving away from St. James’ Park is Moussa Sissoko. The 26-year-old was one of the more impressive players for the Magpies and he has been linked with a move to Arsenal earlier.

Sissoko is known for his industrious playing style, always a willing runner, the French midfielder is also someone who can play in a range of positions, something which will gain the interests of many clubs.

The 26-year-old did rack up 37 appearances for the Magpies in the league campaign last season, which shows that he does have the strength and ability to play regularly in a tough league. There however was one caveat in all these performances as the Frenchman only registered one goal all season long.

Sissoko also provided seven assists, which does help to cover up the lack of goals, but playing mostly as an attacking midfield, Sissoko should have better numbers. This is one reason why he can’t be a starter for many of the top clubs, but he could do a great job playing as a squad member for any of the big teams in the country.

Arsenal seem to be a club which needs investment and a bit of steel in midfield, something which has been spoken about for a number of years and Sissoko could well be the man who provides the London club with that determination and grit in midfield which has been missing for so long.

Moussa wouldn’t break into the Arsenal team all that easily, but he certainly would be able to give them a great option off the bench. The French midfielder also would provide cover for a range of positions which would be a boon for Arsene Wenger next season.

There are a few issues with Moussa’s play and the fact that he is extremely inconsistent that wouldn’t please most of the managers but this is something that Arsene could work on. Moussa is known for his dribbling and crossing and can play out wide as well, giving Arsenal more scope to use him for players such as Mesut Ozil or even Alexis Sanchez.

His finishing and concentration aren’t the best, but if he is brought on with a few minutes left and you need an impact player, he would easily be your man. Arsene wouldn’t have to splash a lot of cash to bring him to the club either as Newcastle are in the Championship.

Sissoko could easily do a great job at any club at the moment and it will certainly be interesting to see which club does try to sign him in the summer.
