Jose Mourinho has always been a big fan of John Stones and he has never tried to hide this fact. He tried signing the young defender from Everton last summer but failed and is expected to do the same again from Manchester United.
According Daily Star, Pep Guardiola also has entered the race to sign Stones as their bid for Aymeric Laporte has not been successful. Laporte is suffering from a broken leg and a dislocated ankle and yet decided to reject a move to City and renew his contract with Atheltic Bilbao. So the Spaniard has shifted his focus to Mourinho’s target and will attempt to lure Stones to Etihad.
We did expect Mourinho vs Guardiola in the Premier League however did not expect the battle to begin so soon. The two renowned managers had experienced bitter rivalry during their time at La Liga and many feel the same may be reignited now that they both are in Manchester.
