Mourinho to make 2 changes – Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face Newcastle United

Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Newcastle United in the PL

Jose Mourinho will aim to bounce back to winning ways when Manchester United host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manchester United have gone three home games without a victory, with the latest coming in the drab 0-0 draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Mourinho will expect his boys to put in a better performance and bounce back to winning ways against Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle, who are still searching for their first league win of the season.

Mourinho’s United are currently placced 10th in the Premier League and need a win to kickstart their season.

Team News

Manchester United are expected to be without Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Marcos Rojo, who are all out through injury.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sergio Romero will be available for the Newcastle game after completing his one-game suspension.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

The best in the business, De Gea is expected to retain his place in the United starting line-up.

Diogo Dalot (RB)

Valencia has been very poor of late, which could see Diogo Dalot get his Premier League debut against Newcastle.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling has been decent for United and is a certain starter for Saturday’s game at Old Trafford.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Bailly was given the nod ahead of Lindelof against Valencia and the Ivorian did enough to guarantee himself a place in the starting XI for the weekend fixture. Powerful in the air and strong in the tackle, Bailly has to be at his best to keep the Newcastle attackers at bay.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has nailed down a place at left-back and isn’t going to get displaced easily now. He is a certain starter against Benitez’s Newcastle.

Marouane Fellaini (CDM)

Fellaini has done his job very well. He has surprisingly become an indispensable player in the United setup.

Paul Pogba (RCM)

Pogba has blown hot and cold so far this season. It is high time he starts putting in consistent performances in the middle of the park for the Red Devils.

Fred (LCM)

United would need a bit of feistiness and creativity in the midfield to unlock Newcastle’s stubborn defence. Fred would give United that quality. He could replace Matic in the starting XI.

Marcus Rashford (LW)

Rashford was United’s only bright spark in the 0-0 draw against Valencia. His willingness and desire to make things happen will be crucial if United are to win all three points this weekend.

Alexis Sanchez (RW)

Sanchez is a pale shadow of the player who shined at Arsenal and it has been difficult for Mourinho to find a way to get the best out of the player. However, the Chilean is expected to start on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku has looked static and starved of service in the last few weeks. He desperately needs a goal to get back some confidence.
