Mourinho to make 1 huge change – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Manchester United lineup to face Burnley

Predicted Manchester United Lineup To Face Burnley In The Premier League

After pulling off a convincing win against Stoke City, Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday as they get set to face Burnley. Sean Dyche’s men have been quite unpredictable this season and are currently sitting in 7th place in the league standings. Although they have been in good form so far, their influence has waned lately and the Red Devils will be looking to take full advantage of that.

In the reverse fixture held last December, the game ended in a 2-2 draw and it will be interesting to see how things fare at Turf Moor this weekend.

Team News

Eric Bailly continues to be out but Ashley Young is expected to return after missing the game against Stoke as a part of his three-match ban. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is understood to be at least a month away from returning and the Red Devils have no fresh injury concerns.

Possible Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

De Gea has rescued United from a lot of sticky situations this season and his influence will once again be necessary against Burnley on Saturday.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Valencia has been one of United’s standout players and he even scored a goal against Stoke. Hence, Jose Mourinho is likely to deploy him in his usual role against the Clarets.

Phil Jones (CB)

Jones has been a force to reckon with at the back for United and the centre-back is likely to return against Burnley with full gusto.

Phil Jones

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling has been nervy at times for United but he has shown signs of improvement and that should prompt Mourinho to hand him a start.

Ashley Young (LB)

Although Luke Shaw has done a decent job in this area, Mourinho should revert to using Young as the first-choice left-back since the player has served the final of his three-game ban by missing out against Stoke.

Nemanja Matic (DM)

Matic’s exhaustion is quite evident and the player looked tired against Stoke as well. However, due to lack of quality options in that area, Mourinho might have to deploy him in his usual role against Burnley.

Paul Pogba (CM)

Pogba is back to his influential self in the midfield area and it has reflected in United’s recent performances. He continues to be a key player for the Red Devils and should play against Burnley as well.

Anthony Martial (LW)

Martial scored in the previous match and has been one of United’s most promising stars. His creativity and power will prove to be vital against a stoic Burnley side.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard (CAM)

With every match, Lingard just keeps improving. He has truly transformed himself into a lethal attacker and his incisive runs will be required to break down Burnley’s defence.

Juan Mata (RW)

Mata is likely to return once more to the right-wing. His presence is reassuring and the Spaniard’s experience often helps the club navigate tricky situations.

Romelu Lukaku (CF)

Lukaku has eased himself into scoring goals again, thus ending his dry spell. He should start against Burnley and the player will hope to get his name on the scoresheet once more.
