Mourinho In – 3 priority Things Jose Mourinho Needs To Take Care At Manchester United asap

So it has come to this, Jose Mourinho is set to take over as the manager of Manchester United after the sacking of Louis van Gaal. The former Chelsea manager is the odds on favourite for the role and he does have a lot of work on his hands if he is to take the club to the same heights as those achieved by Sir Alex Ferguson a few years ago.

The Portuguese manager will manage a club after a long time which is not in the Champions League and that would be his immediate goal, taking Manchester United back into the top 4. The going will be tough, but Mourinho could well be the man who does get the job done for the Old Trafford club.

Mourinho would have to look at a few issues with the club and fix them as soon as possible. Here are three priorities for Mourinho to get right at the Premier League club.

Get the attack going

Manchester United are not the attacking team they once were. David Moyes felt the wrath at one stage of his tenure at the club, Louis van Gaal also felt it and Mourinho will have to deal with it. There really is no attacking plan at the club and the faster Mourinho gets down to fixing this issue, the better it will be for the side.

He does have the right pieces for the puzzle with the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford being young and bright, while the likes of Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard can provide the width in attack. Mourinho isn’t known for his out and out attacking style of football but this will certainly be one of his biggest tests as he takes over the most successful Premier League club ever.

Make United fearsome again

One thing that Manchester United have missed since the days of the legendary Scottish manager is the fear the side would put into teams that visited Old Trafford. Even this season, many clubs have actually done well at the Theatre of Dreams and faster Mourinho can make the home ground a fortress, the better the chances of getting the team higher up the table.

Manchester United also have to get their attacking play in check, whenever they would visit a stadium, the opposition would fear for how many goals they would ship in but those days are gone. At least one thing is guaranteed, Mourinho will get more wins than Van Gaal thanks to his pragmatic playing style, even if they don’t always blow teams away.

Get the signings right

Louis van Gaal blew away close to £250 million on transfers but couldn’t really get the side anywhere. He actually finished a position lower than his first season and that only means Mourinho has to get his signings spot on for the side.

Mourinho does have a decent record of player signings and at Manchester United, he will be given a huge kitty to spend. Hopefully he can get more Anthony Martials in the side and not Angel di Marias with the money that he does burn up.
