Mounie And Ince To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Huddersfield Town Lineup To Face Newcastle United

Predicted Huddersfield Town Lineup To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Huddersfield Town will hope to continue their dream start to the Premier League campaign when they face off against familiar foes Newcastle United at the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday.

The Terriers were off to a blistering start in their debut Premier League season with a thumping 3-0 win over Crystal Palace away from home last Saturday. Manager David Wagner will be hoping that his players put on a similar show when they clash against Rafael Benitez’s side, who come into the game on the back of a 2-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

Team News

Wagner will be without the services of defenders Jon-Gorenc Stankovic (ACL injury) and Martin Cranie (hip injury), along with midfielder Jonathan Hogg (ankle injury) and striker Nahki Wells (ankle injury).

Manager: David Wagner

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Jonas Lossl (GK)

The on-loan Danish stopper had a good debut against Palace, holding on to a clean sheet. Will hope to repeat the feat on Sunday.

Tommy Smith (RB)

The captain, one of the best in his positions in the Championship last season, will again have a vital role to play, with his forward surges down the right-hand side.

Zanka (CB)

Another Dane in the starting XI, Mathias Jorgensen a.k.a Zanka, has slotted in nicely since his summer arrival. Should start in the heart of the defence.

Tommy Smith

Christopher Schindler (CB)

The 27-year old will partner Zanka in the backline and hope to keep the threat of Dwight Gayle under the wraps.

Chris Lowe (LB)

Another vital player in the Terriers’ squad, the German left-back will be tasked with keeping Matt Ritchie at bay.

Aaron Mooy (CM)

Had a wonderful start to life in the Premier League against Palace and the Aussie will look to continue from where he left off at the Selhurst Park last weekend.

Philip Billing (CM)

The 21-year old was given the nod ahead of Danny Williams and Dean Whitehead in the middle of the park by Wagner last week and we could expect the same against the Magpies.

Steve Mounie

Elias Kachunga (RW)

The 25-year old was handed a start on the right flank by the manager against Palace and we could see him take the field again from the same position.

Kasey Palmer (CAM)

The American youngster too had a strong debut after having arrived on loan from Chelsea. Should retain his place in the starting XI.

Tom Ince (LW)

Another summer arrival, Ince started off with a promising debut against Palace last Saturday and will be keen on continuing in a similar fashion and expose a weakened Newcastle backline.

Steve Mounie (ST)

It was a debut to be remembered for the French striker, grabbing a double in his first game for the Terriers, against Palace. Will want to add one or two more to his tally.
