Moore to make 4 changes – Strongest 3-4-2-1 West Brom XI to face Mansfield Town

Predicted West Bromwich Albion line-up to face Mansfield Town in the EFL Cup

West Bromwich Albion will be disappointed to not have come away with a draw against Middlesbrough after Daniel Ayala stepped up to score the winner in stoppage time. Darren Moore’s men have so far been impressive in the league and will be aiming to make amends as soon as possible.

A mid-week league cup game against Mansfield Town presents them with a chance to resurrect the team.

Team News

Darren Moore has no fresh injury concerns to worry about and has a fully-fit squad to pick from. The manager could make changes though, giving some second string players a chance.

Probable West Brom XI

Manager: Darren Moore

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Boaz Myhill (GK)

Myhill has been an able deputy for the Baggies whenever called upon. He should start in goal here.

Craig Dawson (RCB)

Dawson is a strong and committed defender. He should start ahead of Adarabioyo in this game.

Ahmed Hegazi (CB)

A stalwart at the back for West Brom, Hegazi’s role at the club is irreplaceable.

Kyle Bartley (LCB)

Bartley should once again be partnered alongside Hegazi. The former Swansea man has been in good form since moving to the Hawthorns.

Matty Phillips (RWB)

Phillips has flourished after being deployed in the wing-back role. The winger’s runs down the right flank will pose all sorts of problems for Mansfield Town.

Gareth Barry (RCM)

Barry’s defensive work and distribution is the reason why the veteran midfielder is still plying his trade at the top level. He should start this game.

Chris Brunt (LCM)

Brunt hasn’t been impressive over the last two games. This match provides him with the perfect opportunity to gain some confidence.

Chris Brunt

Kieran Gibbs (LWB)

Gibbs has been excellent since making the move from the Emirates. The left-back should be deployed in his favoured role once again.

James Morrison (CAM)

Morrison looked energetic after coming on against Middlesbrough. The Scotland international should be handed a start in this game.

Hal Robson-Kanu (ST)

Robson-Kanu has shown good early season form and will be aiming to score one or two in this game.

Dwight Gayle (ST)

Gayle’s pace and runs behind the defence will be a problem for Mansfield Town. A good chance for the striker to hit top form.
