Mkhitaryan to make his debut: Strongest 4-1-4-1 Arsenal lineup to face Swansea

Predicted Arsenal Lineup To Face Swansea City In The Premier League

Arsenal travel to the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday as they get set to battle bottom-placed Swansea City for 3 points. Interestingly, both clubs will be coming into this game on the back of a win. The Gunners recently beat Chelsea in the League Cup semifinal whereas Swansea emerged victorious against Liverpool in their previous Premier League match. That should act as a nice boost of confidence for the clubs and Arsene Wenger’s men will have to be extremely wary of Carlos Carvalhal’s side.

Team News

As things stand, Wenger does not have any fresh injury concerns. However, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck might be ready to play a cameo role against Swansea. Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is understood to be in line for his debut.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Arsene Wenger

Petr Cech (GK)

Cech has been rock-solid in goal for Arsenal this season and after David Ospina played against Chelsea in the League Cup match, the veteran keeper is likely to be back in the XI.

Hector Bellerin (RB)

Bellerin has had his share of troubles this season but he has been a consistent player on the right-hand side and Wenger is likely to hand him a start on Tuesday.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

Mustafi has been quite responsible at the back and his influence was quite apparent against Chelsea. Hence, the player would be in line to start the upcoming game.

Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

Koscielny’s experience and stability have proven to remarkably impact Arsenal’s back line and he has easily been one of their best. His well-timed interceptions and blocks will be crucial against an unpredictable Swansea attack.

Nacho Monreal (LB)

Monreal put in an immaculate display in the game against Chelsea and that could prompt Wenger to deploy him once again on Tuesday. He chipped in with an assist as well and fulfilled his defensive duties quite impressively.

Mohamed Elneny (DM)

Wenger’s 4-1-4-1 seems to have worked remarkably in favour of Elneny. He was influential against Crystal Palace and displayed good form against Chelsea as well, thus making it likely for Wenger to hand him a start.

Granit Xhaka (CM)

Xhaka displayed some stellar finishing skills as he scored a goal for Arsenal against Chelsea and he has been pretty solid of late. Given his recent form, he is extremely likely to hold his spot against Swansea.

Jack Wilshere (CM)

Wilshere has enjoyed a spectacular turnaround in his career after returning from injury and it almost feels like he never left. He is bossing the midfield area and continues to be a driving force for the Gunners.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Mesut Ozil (RW)

Ozil’s creativity and trickery up front have played a key role in the club’s attack this season and his skills will be needed to break down Swansea’s defence on Tuesday.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (LW)

Mkhitaryan is very likely to make his Arsenal debut in the upcoming game and that should see him take up Alexis Sanchez’s old role. This will be a massive test for him and it is imperative that he does well.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

Lacazette should lead the line and look for an early goal to increase the pressure on the home side.
