We can help but feel pity for Trabzonspor’s Volkan Sen who walked off the pitch during a game against Çaykur Rizespor on Monday night. Volkan Sen was insulted by the opposition fans about his recently deceased mother. Although we can’t say for sure what exactly happened down there, but it broke the player really hard.
Despite players from both sides, as well as the referee, trying to console him, the midfielder decided not to play on and left the midfield at around the 43rd minute mark. And to make things worse for the player, Trabzonspor chairman’s comments would have definitely added further pain, he said:
‘It is impossible for us to accept such a thing, but it [walking off the pitch] was not becoming of a professional football player,” he said, calling the act childish.’
We are not sure if Sen’s decision to leave the pitch was childish, what do you guys think?
