Mario Balotelli kicked off things at Milan sensationally with a double over Udinese. In what will be one of the most memorable debuts in recent times super Mario lit up the San Siro with a fantastic brace which brought Milan to fourth place on the table tied with rivals Inter.
What was even more incredible about his debut was his first touch in a Rossonero shirt, a shot that whizzed by the crossbar and set a menacing tone for the entire match. His chemistry with the recently turned 18 year old M’Baye Niang is freakish, the two skirted across the pitch together on a number of occasions, and even have their own unique celebration after a goal.
The only worrying sign was El Shaarawy. Though he assisted Balotelli’s first goal, he was playing fairly anonymously considering the standards he has set this season. It’s very early to say Mario’s presence has anything to do with it, he sure will need time to adjust his new strike partner.
Looks like Balotelli is already on his way to prove doubters, that the £19m Rossoneri payed for him will not be a waste.
Talking to the press after the game, Balotelli said:
“It was a beautiful feeling. One goal is for my family, the other for my agent and they go in the face of those who said I’m not a player for Milan.
“I should have been on the bench but Giampaolo Pazzini had a problem and I played from the start.
“It went well. I’m happy even if the game was difficult. My legs are still heavy.”
