France and Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe spoke of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo and also shared some words about teammate Neymar.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Mbappe said he would like to win the Champions League and the European Championship, and spoke about his idols. He claims he grew up watching French icon Zinedine Zidane, which is common for every football-loving kid in France.

The 21-year-old also revealed that Portuguese legend and 5-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo was his inspiration. He had looked up to the Juventus man since his youth days and was also fortunate to play against his idol when Real Madrid and PSG faced each other in the 2017/18 Champions League campaign.

“I grew up with a myth of Zidane, then I loved great footballers Brazilians: from Pele to Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaka. Another idol of mine was Cristiano Ronaldo. I must now be inspired by Ronaldo’s career”.

And it is no surprise why Mbappe is surging to the top in the history of football. He has already won the World Cup with his national team at a tender age.

Another interesting part of the interview was where he spoke about his club teammate, Neymar.

He assured good news for the Parc des Princes faithful and his partnership with the former Barcelona man has been flourishing both on and off the field.

He said:

“Neymar is a great player with whom I also get on well of the pitch. For him it has been two difficult seasons, but the attack does not do everything. It’s good news for PSG and for those who love football”.

Both Neymar and Mbappe are in scintillating form this season, sharing 34 goals between themselves across all competitions. And the Frenchman would be hoping to bring the Champions League trophy to Paris at the end of this campaign.
