Why Mauricio Pochettino Is Worthy Enough To Manage Real Madrid

The 45-year-old Argentine manager has definitely got heads turning this season after leading his Spurs side to two impressive results over the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool in the last couple of weeks.

Pochettino’s side outclassed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Sunday after getting their 2nd win at the Wembley this season. All of Pochettino’s hard work with Tottenham seems to be bearing fruit as the London club continue to improve under his management.

Such has been the effect of Pochettino that even Real Madrid chiefs are said to be impressed by the 45-year-old’s conduct after taking away a point from the Bernabeu in their last Champions League outing.

Pochettino’s recent success clearly points at a possible switch to the reigning La-Liga champions Real Madrid. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has already stated that he has no intentions of replacing Zinedine Zidane as head coach.

But, there may come a day when Zidane decides to retire from management, and the Spanish giants believe that the day might come soon. With this in mind, let’s see if Mauricio Pochettino would be a good fit at Real Madrid in the future.

Mauricio Pochettino has done an outstanding job since his appointment as the head coach of Tottenham in 2014 and has helped develop young talents like Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and much more.

Even former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp believes that he is one of the best managers in the world.

“Everyone’s talking about him. He could manage any club in the world, make no mistake. Tottenham are very, very lucky to have him,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“They have one of the best managers in terms of his development of players; he improves footballers and also tactically he’s as good as anyone,” he added.

It’s not just his ability to develop players but also his tactical ability that makes him such an effective manager. He managed to outwit Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool last week and forced them into making mistakes. Despite starting with a fragile midfield, Pochettino’s side were in complete control of the game.

The Argentine is also good at managing clubs on a tight budget, after helping Spurs finish in the top-4 for two consecutive seasons with a smaller budget than that of his rivals.

Pochettino has certainly built an impressive CV for himself in a short period of time and could soon have the Real Madrid chiefs knocking at his door in the future.
