Arsenal continued their amazing away form as they secured a crucial win against Marseille and increased their chances of qualifying to the knockout stages from the group of death.
Wojciech Szczesny – Decent game from the man in gloves. Had some good saves and also had fair amount of mix ups too. 6.5/10
Bacary Sagna – Steady game from one of the most consistent right backs in the league. 7/10
Per Mertesacker – Still coming back into the team after the illness. One of his error could have cost Arsenal a goal. Average game. 6/10
Laurent Koscielny – Clumsy with ball at times, but still produced a good defensive display. 7/10
Kieran Gibbs – His clearance saved Arsenal from going behind. Great cross to assist Walcott and almost scored a goal in the other end. 8/10
Mathieu Flamini – Provided the much needed steal to destroy Marseille’s midfield momentum. Good game but not as good as Sunderland one. 7/10
Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal’s player of the season so far easily. Dribbled past few Marseille bodies to score a well taken deflected goal. 8/10
Theo Walcott – Scored a superb volley to put Arsenal ahead. Arsenal fans will hope this will trigger him to reproduce his lost form. 7/10
Jack Wilshere – Full of energy with his trademark dribbles and passes. Controlled the midfield well. 7/10
Mesut Ozil Decent game for Arsenal’s record signing but did nothing spectacular. 6.5/10
Olivier Giroud – Failed to continue his red hot goal scoring form. May be the injury of his played a part. 6.5/10
Nacho Monreal – Did okay as he was brought in for Walcott to hold on to the lead. 6/10
Miyaichi – N/A
Next in the champions league, Arsenal will face Napoli at Emirates. If they can win against the Italians, it will ease the pressure a bit in the process of qualification for the knockout stages.
