Manchester Untied’s Best XI To Face Sunderland – The Skipper To Start

Manchester Untied’s Best XI To Face Sunderland

With three back to back victories in the Premier League this month, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are finally back on track competing at the top of the table this season. Their recent victory over West Brom took them closer to the top four spots and the manager will know that his team will have to keep up the good work to stay at the top come the end of the season. But their next step will be their home game against a struggling Sunderland who are fresh from a win over Watford in the last round. United have enough fire power to break the Black Cats down but David Moyes knows a thing or two about his former club and will surely put his team out to put on a fight. Mourinho is expected to go with his strongest side and here is the predicted lineup that he might field for this game:

Team News:

In early team news, Jose Mourinho has very little injuries to worry about as Harry Wilson remains the only player ruled out for this game through injury. Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw are all in contention for a return to the squad and will undergo late fitness tests to determine their involvement in the game.

Formation: 4-3-3

David de Gea:

The Spanish shot-stopper is arguably one of the best players in his position in the league and he should start this game for Manchester United.

Antonio Valencia:

The player of the month for the previous month, Valencia, is the first choice right back for Mourinho and should keep his place in the side for this game.

Phil Jones:

The English international has established himself as a first choice center back under Mourinho and should start this game against Sunderland.

Marcos Rojo:

Having put in some brilliant performances at the heart of the defense for United recently, Rojo, should keep his place in the side alongside Jones for this game against Sunderland.

Matteo Darmian:

The Italian full back is not the first choice at the club this season but injuries to key players might see him start this game at the Old Trafford.

Ander Herrera:

The Spanish midfielder has transformed the side with his energy in the middle of the park and he should keep his place in the side for this game against Sunderland.

Michael Carrick:

The experienced midfielder has added the balance to the squad that was missing at the start of the season and he is now a regular starter for Manchester United in the Premier League including this game. And, as usual, the pass master will help in buildups from deep midfield area.

Paul Pogba:

The world record signing for Manchester United is finally showing what he is capable of, playing on the right side of a three-man midfield and he should start this game in a similar position.

Jesse Lingard:

The youngster has been preferred over Martial and Rashford on the right side of the attack for United and he should start this game against Sunderland.

Wayne Rooney:

The skipper of the side, Rooney, has clawed his way back into the first team after some consistent performances recently and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

Still scoring goals at a decent rate, Zlatan, is an important player for Manchester United this season and he should spear-head the attack of the side for this game.
